Mobile learning has been improved a lot since the COVID-19 because people find that using mobile learning apps can help us learn remotely at any time. Even we are not suffering the "study at home" policy any more, these apps are still useful and beneficial.
Here is one of the apps I want to show you, called "Nearpod".
Introduction
Nearpod is a versatile platform for teachers to create interesting and engaging lessons to their students. There are a lot of things you can do with Nearpod, including designing presentations, video classes and even virtual reality images in your class and creating games and quizzes freely.
How to use
Like I said, it's not only for online teaching, but also a hybrid learning platform that allows teachers to use it in off-line classes. By designing lessons with VR images and all kinds of videos can greatly attract student's interests and attention. Besides, combining learning content with games will encourage students to engage in this activity so as to make everyone enjoy the quizzes and learn something.
Limitations
While Nearpod is a powerful tool for both teachers and learners, it has some limitations. Firstl, the functions we can use for free are limitied so that we may not be able to fully take advantage of it. Second, it requires a stable internet and devices, making it not suitable for some teaching environment. Third, mostt of activities created by Nearpod lack enough interaction and supervision. It would be hard for teachers to interact and supervise students when they use it.
However, Nearpod is still a good tool if you can use it properly. Try your best to create something interesting and share it with us!
Thank you Fangshuai for your sharing. I will definitely try to use Nearpod in my future teaching.
